Illusions of Life

illusions held her captive
captive in her own mind
they decieved her into
thinking her life was roses
and sunshine.

reality of her live was
desolate, not a single friendly
sould in sight, her pain kept
her heart hidden, her memory
locked those things away.

he came to her in the dead
of night, when no one could
hear her screams, he took her
childhood, her innosence,
no one was any the wiser, not
that they would have believed her.

she blamed herself for
his twisted desires.

he continued to come to
her, and she continued to
cry.

shorly after it all began
is when she became lost
in the illusions. they kept
her safe, or so she thought.

in the illusion, she was
young and free, she grew up
in a loving home and married
a loving husband.

in reality she was young
and trapped, her home was
not loving, and she married
a man just like her father,
who does the same to their daughters.

and so the cycle continues....

A NEW YEAR

BEFORE

The city is full of life
People on the go
A start of a brand new day
Rushing to and fro

Night time, Party time
Dancing in the street
Everyone celebrating
It's almost the new year

The time is closing in
It's almost midnight
Soon it will be time to cheer
For the New Year

2000 will be the new year
To all it will be a new begining

Suddenly, just before the count down
Everyone looked up
A orange glow filled the sky
Then silence

AFTER

Nothing but dust everywhere
Slowly it clears a little
Destruction beyond belief

Ashes floating down from the sky
Everyone, Everything, gone
Nothing left

What has happened
No one to answer
The world is gone
Total destruction

YEARS LATER

Something coming from within
the pile of rubble
Her clothes in tatters
Her face a mass of sores
Soon to follow
many more

Some with out limbs
Some mutilated beyond recognition
Some has gone insane

Welcome to the New Year
where time has no meaning
Each day is a struggle
Fighting for the right to exist
struggling just to survive

There are no luxuries here
No toys, no games
Nothing for you to enjoy
You past your days hunting
for food, a place you might call home

The fighting and killing
has started again
No one is safe
In our new world

EPILOGUE

What happened to Our fine world
You Ask?
Someone made a mistake
and pushed the wrong button
That's the government for ya!

Welcome to our new world
Welcome to The New Year
